Ding Huan was a Chinese inventor who lived in the Han dynasty in the first century BC who is believed to be the person who created the early zoetropes. His invention is believed to be very similar to a zoetrope and not actually zoetrope and it is also believed the zoetrope was created a long time later. The modern day zoetrope was created in 1833 by British mathematician William George Horner. The images shown below are modern versions of zoetropes Ding Huan had created as his actually zoetropes are very rare to find anymore. To say he created these over 2000 years ago he had some really good ideas for zoetropes and the modern day ones show similar images to what he may have been able to create himself.
